The jury of the «Adapterra Awards Ukraine 2025» competition has finished evaluating 50 entries and selected the semifinalists!
We warmly congratulate the projects advancing to the next stage — they have already become examples of practical solutions for adapting communities to climate change.
Category 1 – A climate change adaptation measure implemented by a municipality
- Rivne City Territorial Community, Rivne City Palace of Children and Youth — “A Shared Home”
- Municipal Enterprise “Institute of Spatial Development” — “Reconstruction of the public space at the intersection of S. Bandery St. and General T. Chuprynky St. in Lviv”
- Municipal Enterprise “Institute of Spatial Development”, DELTA Ukraine, together with Anton Kolomieitsev, Olena Tribusian and Seven CI — the UNBROKEN Prosthetics and Orthotics Centre in Lviv
Category 2 – A climate change adaptation measure implemented by a civil society organisation or an initiative group
- The initiative group of the Sursko-Lytovska community — “A Honey Shelterbelt among Ukraine’s ‘Shelterbelts of Life’”
- NGO “Eco Misto” — “Green transformation of Studentska Square in Chernihiv”
- The “Garden of Stories in Rivne” civic initiative — “Green space on Slovatskoho St.”
Category 3 – Methodological materials related to implementing climate change adaptation measures and climate change vulnerability assessment.
- Ukrainian Climate Network — “Catalogue of Nature-Based Solutions” (a joint effort by representatives of UCN member organisations with the involvement of invited experts)
- NGO “Plato” — “Guide ‘Wildflowers Nearby’”
- Iryna Mechyslavivna Sankovska — “Elective courses: ‘Climate ABC’ (for pupils in grades 3–4) and ‘Climate Box’ (for pupils in grades 5–6)”
We sincerely thank all participants for their initiative, effort and genuine desire to make our communities more resilient to climate change. This year we received a large number of strong entries, and we truly believe there will be even more next year!
We involved experts in the evaluation to ensure the objectivity and impartiality of the process.
